Ganapati (Ganesha) is the leader of Shiva's armies in Hindu mythology. It is very rare to see Ganapati in an agressive state, thus leading me to paint this image.

I always thought Ganesha was more of a peaceful god... but very dynamic pose all the same!

If you ever wondered why he's holding an axe in most of his statuary, that's why. Vedic Gods are dynamic in every way imaginable. Thanks!

How strange. I did not know that about Ganesh. I actually have a couple of statues of him. Do you know the story about how he lost his head?
